DESCRIPTION:3rd ePIXfab Silicon Photonics Summer School \nDownload PDF Poster \n\nOn behalf of the Chair of the EUIMWP (European Network for High Performance Integrated Microwave Photonics\, CA 16220) COST Action\, we are pleased to announce the Training School entitled “Silicon Photonics Summer School”. It will take place in Ghent (Belgium)\, from 11th to 15th of June\, 2018\, and will be organised by ePIXfab and Ghent University. \nThe Silicon Photonics Summer School is designed to equally benefit the beginners and experts in the field of silicon photonics. It will expose the participants to the fundamental concepts of silicon photonics. Also\, it will provide the participants with a unique opportunity to get a strong insight into the latest developments in the field\, and give insight in the many application fields where silicon photonic is\, or will be\, making an impact. Renowned speakers in the field of silicon photonics will showcase hot topics and latest research results for various applications of silicon photonics. The summer school has two poster sessions. The goal of the poster session is to provide the participants with an opportunity to interact with world-renowned experts of silicon photonics to discuss their ideas and potential challenges. \nPlease find the flyer attached and visit http://epixfab.eu/trainings/upcoming-trainings/spss18/ for further information. \nFor registration\, please click here: https://congrezzo.ugent.be/spss2018 \nGrants for attending the Training School \nThe EUIMWP (CA 16220) COST Action will offer a fixed grant (amount still to be confirmed) to trainees coming from COST countries and Near Neighbour Countries (please check the eligibility conditions in the COST Vademecum\, downloadable from the right menu of the COST website (http://www.cost.eu/participate)). These grants are a contribution to travel\, accommodation and meals expenses of trainees during their attendance to the course\, but they will not necessarily cover the totality of the expenses\, and in any case will cover the registration fee. \nThe grants will be given in a first come first served basis\, after checking that the eligibility criteria are met. \nThe number of grants will be around 20. The Grant Holder reserves the right to modify this number according to budget availability. \nHow to apply for a grant by the EUIMWP COST Action? \nPlease send an email to Pepa Bayarri\, the Grant Holder Manager of the EUIMWP COST Action (ghmanager.upv@gmail.com) expressing your interest in getting a grant\, with the following documents attached:\n• Document of your acceptation in the course\, signed by the organisers.\n• Any kind of proof to show your affiliation to your institution (a letter signed by your supervisor\, a copy of your contract/scholarship\, etc.). \nShould you have any question regarding the COST grants\, please contact Pepa Bayarri.
